Hi Nick
Boat: silver gull (waifs)
owner Iain Macdougall + family
endeavour 24 (old)
moored at Yowie Bay Port Hacking
owned it for 18 months
I think Im a member - cheque has been cashed but no paper work has been received.
wife + 2 kids
live in Bathurst so only get to use it during holidays(Im a teacher)
Id like to buy the endeavour history book and also purchase a reasonable condition mainsail
The boat is too old to spend too much on it - but we luv it all the same.
Also the rolled reef is stuffed. do I get it repaired or convert to a conventional reef system?
Hope to hear from you soon
Thanks for the effort to keep the Endeavours togther
Bye Iain MacDougall

Hi Iain ... good to see you on the forums.

I'm sure Nick (now President of the Association) will make good use of your information.

In regards to the Blue Book contact Colin or Annie Cole by email (tuffyclan@ozemail.com.au) and they'll be able to give you the costs to get it to you.

Regards ...
John

Hello Iain,

Sorry for the late reply but as mentioned elsewhere I have been very busy.

Glad to hear you have joined and yes you will eventually find a receipt making it's way to you. If you are concerned please contact Annie Cole.

I think it is great how well Endeavours lend themselves so flexibly to your needs as a family fun cruiser and yet still satisfy our needs for racing. The boats are worth keeping and maintaining but I would do away with the rolling reefing system and use a conventional system.

I hope we see you and the boat at Drummoyne Sailing Club in October?

Regards

Hello John,

Glad to have you onboard and welcome to the site.

The Mecca for Endeavour 24s is Perth, RPYC to be exact. From this club sail many legends from the 24 ranks and there is where I suggest you go and meet up with other E24 owners.

Join the Endeavour Association of WA and take part in their activities and you will never look back!

Last year for the titles we went across to defend our title but alas they showed us how to sail. And I understand that the crew from WA using Onyx also won the titles (have not officially heard this just on the grapevine - We have just returned from Europe and have still not been debriefed on the National titles.

I'll get you the numbers to call to touch base if you give me a call on my mobile tomorrow (Sunday or whenever)

More once I get a chance to catchup!

I am looking for the Book / Manual I can use as a reference to work on my boat eg Specs, Stripping and Assembling, etc. Can you advise where I can purchase one.

I sail out of South of Perth Yacht Club in WA and would be interested in obtaining a contact person if there is an Endeavour Branch here. I know there is a small fleet that sails out of Royal Perth Yacht Club. Do you have any contact details for them?

Regards
John Connell

Nick,
I guess you're still collecting details for E24 owners, right?

Anyway, my details are:
Boat name: Princeton
Your name: Matthew Raper
Family related info: Bought it with Mum (Jeanne Raper)
Phone contact numbers: 0409398746
Email address: emmatt@coscom.net
Physical address for snail mail: 19 Hibiscus Close, Speers Point NSW 2284
Other: We're still shaking things down, but luckily Colin did a great job of fixing her up, so there isn't much we need. Maybe a No.2 headsail?

Cheers,

Justin if you are in Perth ever on a Wednesday and want to have a sail in the afternoon just ring me on 9316 9969 and I'll tee it up. We wear all white rig at RPYC but not all that essential midweek. Typical day today expecting max of 17 and 15-20kt southerly, should be great.

Thanks for the offer Rob but I'm off in two weeks to China (Shanghi) for the next 5 1/2 months then Doha (next to Saudi Arabia) until the end of the year. If MANNA is still where I left it floating in Pittwater I might get some sailing time in the new year 2007 (Agghhh), that is along way a way.

Nick

I just purchaed E24 Mark 2 Charissa
I will be mooring her at Indented Head on the Bellarine Peninsula on Port Phillip Bay.
My contact details are:
Andrew Keir
20 Warnes Road
Mitcham Vic 3134
03 9870 6722
0412 259 899
akeir@mpivic.com.au

As far as crew is concerned, my mate Geoff might be sailing a bit with me, but at this stage no regular crew, My sweetheart wife is more interestred in pottery than sailing.

My kids Xavier, Braden Darcy and Ariel might have a bit of go with me, but they are more interested in other stuff, so who knows, I might just be doing quite a bit solo.

Thanks for everyones help as I carried out my search for a suitable boat, This forum and its members have been incredibly helpful and certainly influenced me in choosing an Endeavour.

Cheers
Andrew Keir

Now that I have actually signed the cheque , I had better get in and join the EYAA and the EYAV.

Hi Geoff,
Sorry to hear about your rudder. If you have an outboard you should have been able to steer with the motor. Keith Morris (ex Endeavour yachts) has rudder moulds. A new rudder costs about $1000 fitted. He can be contacted at 0296239023 or email morriskj@idx.com.au

Fellow Endeavourites
Kris is buying a top third fleet performer that sadly was not sailed competitively for the last four seasons for reasons best known to its soon to be previous owner. He is a little light on for experienced crew. It will be good to see you out there Kris, just ask if you need any help at all. Welcome and good sailing.
