Well the Winter Series of Races started last month at North Harbour SC and there were none starters but with at least four absent for various reasons. The next race is this coming Sunday the 24th of June.
The Mark One E30, Walrus has had a mooring move and is now just 100 feet away from the Hagar. Rod and I have been working on the old girl with us replacing the washers from metal to thick plastic where the propeller shaft is held coming out of the skin fitting. This has been working itself loose on a regular basis and makes an most annoying shudder and noise at higher revs under power. Rod has been fiddling with the old sails so that we can get a few more seasons out of them. Overall the boat is in good order and goes well.
Our sailing club at North Harbour continues to grow and we appear to have gained two good racing boats from Manly Yacht Club's second division and there is interest in a number of other local racing boats.
