Chris, I doubt i will get that far up the harbour on Sunday as i will have the junior crew with me(kids).
If you are coming down the harbour Bon Doobie is moored at Presidents Drummoyne at the moment.

David, Sorry that you cannot come. We will be sailing in the sound & may look for more wind outside as we evaluate out sails. We will catch up with you some other time. Regards, Chris. |

Looked at Electra and it appears to be a 28. Similar layout to mist with the island table, loo and V berth. Also has the raised "bit" on the fore peak like Mist.

I agree with Tony she's a 28.
All the 28's i got photos of before buying Bon Doobie had the island table and the galley angled as you come down.
I did notice that the baby stay has been removed(don't know if thats a good idea),and the way the vee berth has has a lining installed gives a nice clean look but has sacrificed some room, the vee berth sits very high giving very little space and especialy around the toilet, it looks like you have to be a midget to stand at it.It seems to sit right back under the window further than mine.
The prop shaft looks totaly covered which would reduce the head height, and those chain plates behind the dining table stand out a bit.

Hi All, I just received my new insurance policy from QBE and found that the E30 Walrus-Sygnet mentioned earlier features on the cover. Thats a bit of a coincidence. Adrian |

Hi all Endeavourers', went to a great launch for the Batemans Bay Regatta last night. Now I am not trying to take anything away from the 2006 Endeavour Regatta, but for anybody who wants to compete in a long distance race in relatively safe water. To comply would have to be '28 plus & Cat 3. check the link,
http://www.rmyc-porthacking.com.au/sailing.division/Regatta.htm
A few of us were talking and thought it would be great to have a 1/2 Tonne Cup. Could be interesting.
cheers, |

All,
There are a lot of half tonners in Hobart racing still - they have a very active Championship each year - consists of selected races from the pennant races from each of the three major yacht clubs in Hobart. Includes several long distance day races. Ah! For the days when little 30 footers were high in the placings of major offshore races and lots of people got a chance at sailing in the big races - you know, the days before high insurance premiums and huge costs took over. |

Good shots Ian, Your boat has a much larger & deeper rudder than the Splinter & the Hagar. Chris. |

Have just had time to check out the Big Endeavours for sale & noted that the E30 "Walrus" has been taken off the sight, so it looks like she has been sold. One of the E28s' is also listed as sold. This brings the list back to seven boats only on offer for sale. Chris. |

While perusing the October edition of the Afloat Mag. I noted that the E30 Walrus remains still for sail. There is no asking price, only a contact number of Micheal 0421 777170 & email address of colemans@primus.com.au This is the Yellow E30 which is moored in Middle Harbour & appeared to be good value when Kevin & inspected her. Found another E30 mk1 today in the harbour, called "Hollywood".
Didn't have a lot of time as the start of the race was getting close but it looks as if she has been getting tidied up.

Good spotting David, This E30 is owned by Ralph Westbury of Mortdale in Sydney. We looked at her back in December 2004. Ralphael saw her before us & put a deposit on her the same day that we looked at her. She is a sound Mark 1 E30. The engine is set under the stairs where our double birth is. I think she was a good buy but needed a lot more work than the Hagar IV and was not set up as a racer which we believe our boat was. Ralphael paid about $35,000.00 from memory which is the same as what we paid for the Hagar IV. But we had to pay to have ours road freighted to Sydney. Both Kevin & I have been trying to contact Raphael but he stopped communicating some months ago. He was very keen when he bought her. How does she look? She was a white boat with a steering wheel. Please keep looking for any other Big Endeavours. Rod & I have still to take our discovery trip into Middle Harbour. We know of the Walrus, which I believe is still for sale & should be well priced, but there may be another. Chris. |

| Not sure how to do it, but perhaps thru this site we could collate a list of boats, names, locations and ownders. Needs someone with more computer smarts than me to work out how to do it. Once done, it could be updated with "finds". |
