Great idea, would not be hard to do a data base and could be password protected if need be. If the Association wanted it one could be set up for each class with such info - name, approx number, condition, owners, contacts, location, race/cruise and interests. So other owners may have social contact. Could be good to develop over the next months. What do you think Mr. Webmaster ? cheers, |

Here is a suggestion to you Kevin. Start by visiting Reg Gardiner & obtaining a list whith whatever data he is willing to share on E30s'. On the Saturday morning of the 40th Regatta I was introduced to him and we spoke briefly. I asked him if he knew which boat ours was out of the mould. On Sunday night I was handed a piece of paper from him with the name of the owner who he sold number ten out of the mould to. It was our boat. We are yet to follow up the owner. We suspect we purchased the Buccaneer from owner number two. We do know that there are E30s' from Gladston to Hobart. Chris. |

| I never did get anyone to tell me where to look to find the hull number on my boat. Where does it normally hide?? |

Reg still has the original invoices, he goes by the discription and him memory of the time. He must have had such a close input with the buyers. Apparently there was about 30 produced. I will call over to him in the near future, and I must admit it is a pleasure to chat to him. Love his sense of humour. Will see what kind of info I can get. cheers, |

| Would love info on "Caroline" - a copy of the sales invoice would be terrific. A bit of background may help. She has always been called "Caroline" as far as I am aware. The original owner was a Hobart man called Albani ("Bani") Palfreyman, still a member of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania today. He thought it was 1977 when he picked her up new in Sydney and he and some of his mates sailed her down to Hobart - I guess original sale documentation may prove or disprove his memory if it is available. I am not even sure what year Mark II E30's started being produced. |

Kevin, Would be nice to find some history on Bon Doobie, there were even less 28s built so everyone say's, so he might know something about this one.

| I would be delighted to send up a copy of a CD I prepared when selling "Caroline" (over 40 shots plus 2003 survey) - maybe Reg might like to see whnt good care people are taking of his babies? I also have lots of shots from our cruising escapades. Just give me an address to send it to! |

It is interesting that on the Big Boats for sale section there are seven big boats listed. Two of the E28s' have been sold, which leaves a total of five boats only listed for offer. One E32, one E30, one E28 & two E27s'. Am not sure if the yellow E30, the Walrus, which is not listed is still for sale. Chris. |

| Chris, Are you thinking of cashing in on this "big boat" sale bonanza? Instead, maybe you could get Reg to draw up a section that can be spliced into the middle of your boat in carbon - the first E35 - now there is a thought!! |

Don't tempt me! You think I haven't thought of splicing in a section to Fortis?
Okay....so the reality is that Margaret said NO

We are more than content with the Hagar, Rod says its the last boat in his life. By this time next year with our work & renervation program she will be very comfortable, everything will work and she will be very competitive. Anything bigger would involve a huge increase in expenditure as well as well as maintence costs. She will not be a spiv as Caroline, but hay, she's not a jin palace. Compare the cost of a Cavalier or Nothshore 34 plus for cost. Chris. |

Well this afternoon will looking at the Ninemsn Big Endeaours for sale, there appears to be little changes with only seven boats on offer & two of these being E28s' are listed as "sold". This leaves one each E32 & E30 as well as one E28 & two E27's. I have been tinkering with putting together a list of E30s in am excel format & pasting to the website and having youall filling in the gaps. And since there were only 30 built it would not take up too much space. And if John could place it into perhaps the Gallery or some appropriate spot it could become a working document. The fields would include: 1. Boat Number out of the mould. Splinter was about number 4 & Hagar was 10. 2. The date built, 3. The original name of the boat, 4. The original Buyer / Owner. 5. Additional data, such as layout, who finished & where etc. 6. Ownership & racing History.
Any further thoughts?
Chris. [:-viking] |

Chris, Add us 28's in, there was even less of us so we will take up even less space.
I know of 9 28's owned or sold in the past few months, that was nearly all of them.

| Guys, would be nice to attempt an online register of the "small" Endeavours too... I've almost no idea about the history of mine except that it was once red and might have been launched as "Bojangles", and of course who I bought it off! |

Hi Davids, Thanks for answering. I will get around to developing my excel list and email a blank format copy to you both when it is finished. It should be easy, and especially if I con my wife into doing it for me. I'm no expert on Excel! The information which you have on the E28s' sounds great David, you may have most of the information. If we can get our lists for 28s' & 30s' as complete as possible then perhaps a visit may be made to Reg and he might fill in most of the gaps from his invoice records. For the E24s' & E26s' the job would be far more difficult as there will be good, bad & nil data on many of the craft built. Especially as many were build in kit form as well as under licence by other builders. However just a concise list of known racing boats would be a great start. Chris. [:-viking] |

This afternoon I put together a draft Excell work sheet for the E30 Boat List. Have filled in the limited information which I have on the boats and then sent it off to the E30 Master, KS. So in a few days or weeks we may have something interesting to post on the known E30s' which are floating about. Chris. |

Gee Chris, what the "Master" Naaa, just interested in my lovely boat. We couldn't do Twilights tonight, just too many safety issues with wind as it was. So a few beers with friends great afternoon. The List you have started looks good and will add over time. Will speak to Reg to see if we can fill a few gaps. (Not straight away) It will be great if we can get more names and info on other boats. cheers, |
