Hi All, thought it was a good time to start a new topic on Gosford Endeavour's.

We have 8 active boats, 5 E26, 2 E24 and 1 E28. We also have a bakers dozen of other E30's, 26's , 28's and 24's in the Brisbane Water that occasionally show up for a twilight.

On last Sunday we had the final 3 of the Sprint series and the Endeavours did well in our division. We took all 5 top spots in the first race, 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 in the second race and then handicaps kicked in in the last as there was only 2.5 minutes between 1st and 11th in the final race but we still got a first and 4th across the line.

Kytan was first across the line in every race. We were flying. Wish we could have done it in the Nationals.

The second division at GSC is becoming the Endeavour division with 7 of the 13 boats racing being Endeavours. The others are an Adams 31, Ross830, Traditional 30, Santana 28, Tasman 26 and a VanDerStadt 28?

All you Gosford skippers, let us know your thoughts here.

Hi Colin,

The big black Cole genoa was used in the first and last with the blade in the second, as the wind set in to a solid 20kts+,

Divine was 2nd 23 and 32 seconds behind in the first and second race and right on our heels until they stuffed up the last tack in the third.

Eric in 4 Seasons was 3rd in the first and second races 2 minutes behind in the first and 17 seconds behind DI in the second, he had a shocker in the last.

I had a gun crew on board and no propellor on the shaft. Great racing.

I must say, Greg ,that Divine Intervention set a very high standard and now eveyone is out to beat the s*** out of me!!!
It is exactly what was talked about - raising the standard of the fleet. Now it is the endeavour that makes the least mistakes does best.
It just goes to show what a good crew can do for a one design class yacht.Last Sunday was some of the closest fleet racing I've been involved in. It was great.

Gregs results are yyet to be verified, we're waiting on the stewards report on the contents of his water bottle,as for us we're still fiddling with the new rig,but bearing in mind we got as close as we did WITHOUT a spinnaker all day, ithink we're slowly getting there. The last race saw us fairly close at the last mark until a late running first div boat carted us off the course and into oblivion. EH

great to read of the mass fleet adventures @ GSC! we sailed last weekend too and as reported elsewhere (have we got enough topics on this web page:)we were right on the pace - but- Wundurra who has been the bench mark consistently @ BBYC of late and thr Buzz and Winsom from CSC all sailed well. We too had 9 x 26s last weekend I think, the Cronulla boats were sporting some newish black "Shortie" gear (mind you most was changed down as the breeze howled in) our own "Scallywag and Wundurra" both will have new #1s next week - I reckon that the quality of the fleet in apperance, sails and ability is at the highest point I can remember - not our fleet - I mean the association in general.
Alot to do with the 40th and Gra's leadership - well done all - oh yeah you too Ecka - experiance is necessary in all walks of life and Copy reckons you have "eons" of it! :) :)

Yes it is good to see & here that the standard of racing within the Class as well as the numbers is on the rise. However, we do need to support and get as many Endeavour yachts along to all of the regattas as possible. Even I you cannot get your boat up to Lake Macquarie at Easter, post your name as available on the site under the Regatta list. You are sure to get a spot on a yacht. The E30s' can take at least six big people.
You chaps at BB & Gosford are fortunate in having numbers. We would love to race against a few other Endeavours at North Harbour. But we are working on it.
We are still keen to be involved in working bees for the Class in the restoration of old Endeavour boats. What is happening in that area?
Chris.

Sunday afternoon race. 4 E26 and 1 E28 in our division. Race delayed while starter tried to figure out 1. if there was wind and 2. which direction it was coming from. Started with SW and finally started race with E.

Light 0-6/8knts all race from the E, NE or SE depending on where you were. Boats within 100m of each other on the same tack were 90 degrees different.
I crewed for Eric on 4S as Kytan is still having engine issues. Eric taught me some new swear words as we went from second to second last in the last 2 legs.

Divine Intervention came 2nd across the line after being in the lead most of the race but followed the wind too far from the shortened finish line and lost his spot. Then Scotch Mist E28,Haylee Maree, 4S and Mouette.

At least the club wasn't crowded and the beer was cold.

Interesting names of some, I trust none of the owners have bred.

I did say "some" Your Eminence. It intrigues me what some people name their craft these days, it's like graffiti and personalised number plates. Unfortunately, in the same vein, their progeny are often the unfortunate recipients of a misspelled or compound christian name which will be with them for life, cute though it may be at birth. I suspect most of these owners have never had the misfortune to use the name of their boat in a PAN or MAYDAY broadcast. The name of a boat used to have some meaning to it. Anyway, the site was getting a bit dull, anaemic even........

Diluting the gene pool is not always a good idea Eric.

Actually Stig is quite like the Top Gear mythical character, he never says boo, is very enigmatic and is always fast around the track. I will have to start adding "The' to the front of his name from now on, he may even smile[probably not]

Disappointed to read the latest GSC newsletter with no yacht section news or any mention of the recent Endeavour Nationals. Our Endeavours are well up there in the club racing results as well and it would be nice to see more promotion of the class locally.

Please explain!!!!
