Results Heats 1 and 2 - from Frank Rendell (President EYA Vic)-
Race 1 Sunday Feb 24 - with 27 knot gusts and 2 mtr waves only 2 yachts contested the first race. Mark Sheahan is always a strong performer in rough seas with Cathmarine and finished first (1.13.38) with skilfull handling in the difficult conditions ahead of Frank Rendell in Puff (1.16.03).
Race 2 Sunday Mar 16 - once again the weather provided a challenging day for the four contestants. Southerly winds gusted at 28 knots prior to the start but eased to 15/23 Knots and the yachts jumped away for a promising race. The lead changed several times during atight race but Frank Rendell in Puff (1.10.46) was able to hold off Mark Sheahan / Cathmarine (1.11.33), James Walshe / Rocket Science (1.15.01) and Kevin Moles / Sprite (1.25.10) at the finish. The championship is wide open for a tight finish in April with the possibility for a fourth race to decide a winner.
