The Hagar is all ready to go to the Nationals up at the swamp. However there will be some ring-in's aboard this year with skipper Childs away in South America with his She-Who-Must-Be-O'beyed on a cruise to Patagonia as well as visiting Marchupitchu ect.
So Andy is taking the helm for this one. Other yachts beware, Andy is known far and wide as "Blind-Andy" and for good reason. In his skiff days he managed to take out a number of the opposition in skiff racing.
John Crawford will be running interference in the stern, I will be on the bow and we have two ring-ins grinding. So with a crew of six we are hoping for heavy weather.
However the Hagar is all go with the top-sides painting finished over the past year and we have removed some of Rod's experiments in an effort to keep-it-simple.
Looking forward to another close encounter with the Rhumline again.
Chris.

Well it was a very mixed regatta up at the Gosford swamp. We got more than we wanted from the weather man with Sunday a wipe out and no-won leaving the docks. It was quite an interesting situation with a skipper and crews meeting of all the E30's whom decided together to not sail. We were shortly joined by the E26 skippers who wanted our opinion and after being informed of our decision endorsed it and likewise did not go out. It was the correct decision because we had the on-board mast instruments reading increasing gusts as high as 36 knots just in the dock and it was a white-out out on the swamp. Shortly after the Starter whom was out on the water abandoned the days racing. And so the results of the two completed races from Saturday should remain which I believe leaves Grunter retaining the E26 trophy and with Andy Eaton picking up the Big Boat trophy. There was only one E24 racing, whom I apologies for not remembering.
We were wrapped that there were three E30's on the water racing and hope to see them and possibly more at the next regatta which I believe will be in Botany Bay.
Well done to the organizers from Gosford who did a great job.
Chris.
